Hi kids,
I recently killed my MBP (don't ask) but my local tech was able to transfer all my data from the hard drive onto my Time Capsule by doing a 'data dump' I believe he called it. That's all well and good, but now I cannot find the folder which actually held all the stuff I'm looking for, which I used to just locate in my finder and movies/photos folders. Any ideas where to look? I'm using a PC to find the files until I get my insurance sorted out and a new MBP

Have you tried just searching the drive?

Yeah... I've searched everywhere for it and trhere seems to be a bunch of files in one folder that windows wont even tell me what kind of file it is, it just says its a file. There's thousands of them, so I'm hoping they're my personal files because there's nothing in the folder which has my user name on it in the library

I suggest you contact your local tech and ask him/her what they used.
