Accessing speakerphone when speaker icon has disappeared

Like many, I often am on hold on my iPhone 6 forever. If I respond to prompts (press number one) I lose the page that has the speaker phone icon. Is there a way to get back to that page to turn on the speaker to listen for operator while I hold, browse, brush my teeth, take a nap while waiting.

Sure, when you are on the keypad screen while in a call, tap on the small "Hide" button/link on the lower right and that should get you back to the screen with the speakerphone option (along with other call options).
