Accessing the iTunes store on my Macbook slows connection way down.

My wireless will be working absolutely fine, but then I'll load iTunes to check out some new apps for my iPhone or something, and my internet connection slows down to a crawl..

If I kill iTunes, everything is hunky dory again. I have iTunes allowed through the Mac firewall. Any ideas??
