Hi All,

Thought it would be interesting to see what kind of accessories everyone wishes were available for their iPhones.

Personally, I wish there was some sort of small speakerphone dock. I know there are a lot of larger music docks out there, but something that was really small (i.e. that you could take to the office, on travels, etc.) and just made it slightly louder. Would be cool if it charged the phone as well. :D

What do you all wish were available?

Lightning to USB 3.0

Lightning to Thunderbolt.

Large data transfers over USB 2.0 are garbage.

Extended internal battery and backside. I'll gladly take a thicker iPhone in exchange of double battery life.

The data transfer wouldn't be any faster, until they start using some faster flash storage. The flash storage used in iDevices now is not like an SSD. It doesn't even max out USB2 speed spec.

An extended lightning port adapter...A 30 pin to lightning port adapter that takes into account that many of us have cases on our phones.

Can you list your sources for this? Assuming the device is just a simple nand like a flash drive Apple typically uses high quality parts. Heck even Apple's 10.6.3 flash drive that I have is faster than any other usb flash drive I have.

Sure they would need to add a controller to support USB3/thunderbolt into the next iDevice, but surely you can understand the need for faster transfers. Hell even Steve said it. He actually bashed USB 2.0 when he released the first iPod which used Firewire.

There's no direct source really that I have found. Apple doesn't exactly advertise that they use slow crappy flash. Google "iPhone NAND speed", or better yet go to iFixit and check out the teardown for your specific iDevice, and you will see the type of Nand used in your device. Then google that. Apple seems to be happy with write speeds around 20MB/s.

It's not just the storage. The interface on the device has to support faster transfers. Data transfer can only be as fast as the slowest link in the chain.
