Greetings MacRumors Community,

I come here out of sheer desperation and I sincerely hope someone can provide assistance or at least point me in the right direction.

I have an unlocked/jailbroken iPhone 2G. It worked great for 2 months since I bought it. I have two "accessories" for it. One, the composite AV cable (Apple part no. MB129LL/B) and two, the Apple bluetooth headset and charger cable (Apple part no. MB536LL/A), which charges both the phone and the headset.

When I bought the iPhone it was already jailbroken and unlocked and both of these accessories worked fine. I could see video through the video cable and I could charge both the iPhone and the BT headset on that cable. In the past few weeks, I discovered that both are now not working. When I plug in either I get the message "This accessory is not designed for iPhone. Would you like to turn on Airplane mode?". I can't use the video cable at all and the BT charger will only charge the headset or the phone, not both simultaneously. I though "hey, no biggie, I'll just restore the iPhone and everything should be back to normal". Nope.

First, I just upgraded from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1 through iTunes, which un-jailbroke it, but it was still unlocked. I plugged in the BT charging cable and I got the error message. Then, I restored the iPhone through iTunes and re-jailbroke/unlocked it with Pwnage tool. Again, neither of these accessories work.

I have tried blowing out the port with compressed air, rebooting the device, using Boss Prefs to fix user permissions, plugging the cable in when it's off, and cussing at it. Still, I get this error message.

Both of these accessories used to work. They will work. I don't know how to fix it. I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank you for your time.

EDIT: I have searched for solutions, but have not found anyone with this exact same problem. I only get the error when I plug in these accessories. I'll try to find a friend with AT&T to borrow their SIM and restore to default without jailbreaking and see if that helps. :p
