Unless I've missed something, http://www.apple.com/mobileme/ is showing a new feature...

Is the strange button on the bottom right of the iPhone's calendar new or am I behind the times? I can't find it on either the iPhone or iPhone 3G.

i think its the button for calendar event invites (eg meetings)

always been there, as long as you use push email

Thought so, thanks. Had a look on mine and couldn't find a trace of Attendee Support so I assumed it was something new. Stupid GMail.

Seems like it's just for people with Exchange (or people with both, obviously), as it deals with accepting business meetings. Since it doesn't appear for people with JUST MobileMe, it probably shouldn't be shown on the MobileMe page...

well that sucks, it would be nice to be able to send invites to my wife and vice versa for appointments and school functions for the kids.

is there a way to email events or appointments through mobileme? (other than typing an email and then having to enter it manually- for the smart asses out there)

Yeah, I don't know why this is limited to just Exchange. There's a TON of great uses for MobileMe customers as well...

Not that I can see... :(

RE: MobileMe integration - but how would this work? The thing about Exchange is that you have a calendar server built in which is a fully featured appointment manager. Anyone in your organisation can query your free time and "pencil in" appointments for your approval. (Which is when they appear in the inbox.)

This isn't what MobileMe is designed to do, unfortunately. I can't believe Apple haven't made all of the new OTA features of iPhone OS 2.x compatible with their own enterprise platform (Leopard Server calendars for example). So in short: if huge enterprises aren't demanding it, don't expect support for it any time soon. Think Different... or something.
