Accidentally Bricked 1g iPod Touch on JB 3.1.3

I found my old 1st gen iPod Touch the other day and decided to jailbreak it.

Used the Jailbreakme.com method and installed bossprefs, winterboard and a Game Boy Emulator

Battery died overnight and after charging it up, I now get both the apple logo and a stationary progress wheel, and a line of random colours.

It isn't recognised by iTunes when plugged into my MacBook

What should I do?

I genuinely don't know how to do that - sorry - I'm pretty new to jailbreak etc

Well, google "iphone DFU" and you should get plenty of hits. It works the same on iPod touch.

Tried it just now, no such luck... Bit worried now.

Well, does it at least shut off?

You may need to give it a couple of trys, some people have trouble getting the timing right when attempting DFU. You have to let go at a precise moment or you end up back at the Apple logo.

try shutting off with cable plugged into the iPod and hold power till it comes on you should have a iTunes logo appear
