When I open a web page it does not cover the entire screen. The bottom inch or so of the screen still shows the home page and dock. How can I make the page cover the entire display including the dock?

If the Dock is visible then applications will not overlap it when you maximize an application.

You're going to have to drag it over the Dock if you want to cover it and have the Dock visible.

I turned hiding ON and the screen is now the proper size, but now have no dock. What to do?

BTW, this happened when I was carelessly moving the cursor around in the dock. Must be a simple fix.

The dock is hidden on the side where you have it. If you move your cursor to where your Dock was it'll pop back up.
