I bought a new external HD, and was moving about 4GB from old external to the new one. I thought I'd moved it as I had a folder with the same name on the new one, but I'm now short about 2GB of data.

Basically, is there a way to get it back? I've deleted it from the original external and emptied the trash... so it's gone... :(

As long as the data hasn't been overwritten with other zeros and ones, you can also use Data Rescue II, which costs money of course but maybe found cheaper at eBay or some other online store.

So if the data is worth rescuing, I highly recommend this software, as I have had to use it quite "often" (four times in as many years). It was worth the price for me.
