Accidentally Deleted Some Applications

being new to the mac OS i accidentall deleted some applications (chess and a couple of other not important ones) however i cant seem to find out to recover them or download them

hoping someone can help - otherwise pleased with my swap from windows to mac

Reinstalling the OS does this, but Pacifist gets the apps off the install disk

Well first double check if they're still in the trash can. If not there, you can grab applications that came by default from the install discs. Other programs will simply have to be reacquired.
