Accidentally erased hard drive

Hello i need help,

I had 2 hard drives attached to my macbook air and i was on disk utility and wanted to erase and reformat one of them to a different format (exFAT) but i accidentally clicked on the wrong hard drive and totally erased it I had almost 1TB of movies and tv shows on there and now they have gone!

is there a quick and free way to get them back, any help will be helpful

Quick and Free? Not that I know of.....

Data recovery is usually time consuming and expensive. Though it generally can be done.

You have any more information about this ? With pandora applications etc, I can recover files, but they are all scrambled, all my codings and movies etc are all useless after recovering.
