I was tring to do an SMC reset on my Macbook and I held the power key down for 10 seconds but didn't remove the battery. I got a very loud beep and the sleep light was flashing. After doing some research, I found out I did some kind of reset that locks the CPU's at 1Ghz and according to CoreDuo, my CPU spped in fact never goes above that.

Is there someway to undo this lock?

Did you try to hold down the power button again for 10 seconds until it beeps again.

I tried that with no luck. I did find a program called CoolBook which lets you set custom CPU speeds and that seems to have fixed the problem. I now am getting max 2Ghz speeds again.

thanks
