my brother just handed me his phone and asks me to fix it he has no idea what he did his phone all of a sudden says to connect to iTunes. i connect it and it says its in recovery mode  i have no idea how he did it he doesn't either. i have had all models of iPhones and the only times mine have ever been in recovery mode i put in that mode.

If you can't kick it out of recovery, then try restoring it. If it randomly rebooted into that mode, then something is wrong with it.

Cross your fingers that its not error 23 or 40 ;)

Have you tried restarting the phone by pressing and holding the "home" and "power" buttons simultaneously for 15 seconds (until you see the apple logo)?

Does it just boot into recovery mode again?

i just connected it to iTunes and restored it, seems fine now. it was really weird.

has anyone ever heard of that happening?
