Situation: Grabbed roomates WD external drive (formated for Windows) instead of mine (we have the same one) and started using time machine--it says "needs to reformat drive" I say ok, it starts, he goes, dude thats not your hard drive.
Plugs it into his comp, doesn't recognize, already started formatting for Mac.
