Accidentally synced from an old iPhone...

Someone (a friend I'm posting for) accidentally synced her phone from an old backup of over 1yr ago and it put all of her old contacts/pics etc onto her phone.

She hadn't synced in over a year so there is no way to undo this is there? I don't think there is but I wanted to ask and be sure.

Should have been a warning something like "about to change more than xx% of data on the computer continue?"

I have learned that warning is a big one and not to be ignored.

Sounds like the other way round for you though?

Is there a backup that is more recent listed? Use that?
