How difficult would it be for Apple to officially confirm one way or the other? It doesn't affect me like others (have a good working 3GS improved by iOS4, will be glad of the chance to check it out in-store and see if the screen is really worth it, and couldn't camp out if I wanted due to work). But Apple staying silent on this is just crap, sorry.
Is it though? I may be lying to myself, but that statement looks familiar. Like a few days ago familiar. And it doesn't say anything about a special 'contact'.
I haven't seen the statement before, so it seems new to me anyway.
As far as their "contact" is concerned, I inferred that from this statement, "We reached out to Apple and got this."
I'm assuming they talked to someone like a PR rep, not a Customer Service rep, but that's just speculation on my part. From a reputable site I would expect better than them just calling C.S.
