Accurate count of unread Mail messages??

I use Apple Mail and it works great for me, but I can't figure out if there's a way to do one thing. I have various rules and folders set up so that certain e-mails automatically go to certain folders. This helps me keep things very organized and easy to find. Only problem is, unread mail that is not located specifically in my Inbox does not show up on my dock icon as unread mail. Does anyone know of a way to have it show ALL unread mail? Thanks!
