I a looking to get a 20" ACD to use with my macbook pro then my new mac pro when it comes later this year.

I will buy second hand to save cost, is it worth waiting or buying new?
I can save about 30% on ebay.

go ahead and buy now. People have been waiting how long for a new one and still havent gotten it?

I would wait until tomorrow, Wed, after the Apple Special Event.

If they don't release new monitors then, and likely will not, then BUY.

After tomorrow you'll be waiting a while before future updates.

The current ACDs are still cream of the crop. The only thing I'd wait for is maybe a price cut.

why what's happening tomorrow?

Apple held an event today -- tuesday -- but only rolled out Aperature.

So Buy Buy Buy if you need it.

No updates any time soon, meaning next two to three months at least in my opinion. Especially now that Apple pulled out of the NAB show.

I ordered a 23" ACD today. I've been holding off, but then I thought this current screen has been tweaked and had all its faults ironed out since it was first released. All I want is a good screen to go with my new Mac Pro, I don't need to connect anything else to it, except perhaps a webcam. Also after having a bad experience with the new inferior 24" Al iMac screen compared to the old white iMac, I started to worry if Apple do come up with an update, the new screens might not be as good as the current ones. I guess I worry too much, but at the end of the day it's my money. At least I know what I am buying is tried and tested.

I am getting tempted over to the dark side by dell.

ACD 20" for £399 or Dell 24" for £290
