ACD Power Adaptor

I posted earlier about surge protection for ACD 30" + Mac Pro + Peripherals; I've simplified my query since then: Does the power adaptor that comes with the ACD 30" regulate household voltage and ensure consistent proper voltage, or should I rely on an aftermarket solution? The manual simply instructs me to "plug into grounded outlet".
