Acd & usb3.0

Hey all.
I got this ACD. (I think that's the one)

It has 3 USB ports that work like a Hub when you connect the display's USB to the Mini, Pro, MBP, whatever.

My question being. If I bought a new Mac with USB3.0 ports and connected the ACD to it... would the ports on the ACD still work as 2.0? Or would they be able to do 3.0?

I assume they'll just do 2.0 but I gotta ask. Thanks!

my guess would they would function as USB 2, as they have not had the hardware update to usb3 - and simply coz ure mac has usb3 ports, does not transition to the usb ports on the ACD - unless they have also been updated, which at this point in time, they have not!

No need to guess.

They would only operate at USB 2.0 speeds.

New hardware would be required.
