Acer GN246HL 144 Hz monitor w/2011 MacBook Pro?

I'm hoping to find some clarity on this, as all the information I've searched on so far as been conflicting. Does OS X Yosemite on a 2011 MacBook Pro with the AMD Radeon 6770M GPU support 120-144 Hz at 1920x1080 resolution on a properly equipped external display, such as the Acer GN246HL? I'm guessing this requires some kind of mini DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adapter.

Any clarification or insight on this matter is appreciated.
