i already posted a thread about this but im making a new one because i put dell instead of acer on the title. because im thinking of buying a dell monitor but that is another story

hi everyone im new with using mac and i have a question i im going to buy a mac pro but im thinking of buying it with out the apple display monitor because i just bought a Acer - T-Series 23" IPS LED HD Touch-Screen Monitor but i wanted to know if i buy a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter can i connect my monitor to my mac pro and will it work i know that the touch function wont work but other than that will it display ok and work with out a problem ????
