I have a high rez music file, 511.8 mb. I want to email it. i used archive utility for the first time to compress the file. It only compressed it to 472.2 mb.
Still too big to email.
Does this sound right? Is this just too big of a file to email?
The only other thing I can think of is put it on a flash drive and mail it.
Or is there someway to upload it to the web, just like i upload photos for friends to view, and then have my friend access the file from there?

Dropbox

How small a file compresses depends on the type of file. Text files, Word documents, spreadsheets, etc. will compress a lot. Movies and music, not so much.

thanks

Upload it to a service like Mediafire, Megaupload, Rapishare.

Thanks. What a quick reply!
I went to Mediafire. For free you can't have a file over 200 mb
I am uploading my fire to Megaupload right now. I think that is going to work out fine.
Thanks for your help:).

You can store up to 2GB free with Dropbox.
