I had the same thought... but it looked cool, kinda fit what I was looking for and I had some extra cash in my PayPal account so I gave it a shot. Like I said before when I got it I was pleasantly surprised, it does a great job of amplifying the iPhones audio and doesn't disturb everyone around you. Just thought I would share and maybe help someone who is looking for an alternative to electric speakers like I was.

Pretty cool but there are cheaper alternatives that are made of aluminum for like 35 bucks.

Saw it on macrumors or 9to5mac
