ACPI during full-screen gaming

I have a bit of an odd problem. When playing full-screen games, my battery doesn't hold charge - it slowly drains until it switches itself off (presuming I stay in the game!). As soon as full screen kicks in, the led on the charger changes from red to green and the battery gradually dies.

I'm using a 2.4Ghz MBP, if that's any help. I've heard there's an issue with the core 2 duo and ACPI in Windows, but that's all I've heard. Can anyone help?
