Has anybody else downloaded acrobat 8, only to find out you're downloading the download manager, which you then have to install, just to download acrobat, which you then have to install???

I was a little disturbed to see this- possibly the most un-mac-like app install I've ever done. When I looked up how to uninstall the manager, adobe's solution is to hunt down one-by-one the seven or eight different files it's spewed across my system.

The download manager has been around since Reader 7. Can't stand it and really wonder what the point of it is...

I guess I never noticed because my acrobat is off the CS disks. This was for my mother. She's a new switcher and was thoroughly confused by the whole process. She's having a hard enough time figuring out the 'mounting the DMG' process, nevermind this crap. What's seriously disturbing is the uninstall.
