I have an old MacBook Pro that I upgraded to El Capitan a month or so ago and the Acrobat X Pro 10.1.16 works fine on it. Now I am replacing that computer with a new iMac. I installed Acrobat X Pro from the original disc (it was version 10.0.0) and it does not even launch (I thought it did the first time I tried to open a pdf... but maybe I was dreaming). Anyway it doesn't launch now. I can't upgrade it to 10.1.16 - like the one on the MacBook Pro - because it won't launch. So I copied the one from the MBP to a dvd and put the 10.1.16 version on the iMac, but that doesn't launch either. I have read on the Adobe website that Acrobat X is not compatible with El Capitan:

But I also see that in this forum someone has a list of software that does, in fact, work with El Capitan and Acrobat X Pro is on that list.

So my question is why would it work in El Capitan on the MacBook Pro but not on the iMac?

Thanks!
