I just got my new iphone 4 and have an old first gen iphone left over that I am planning on using as a backup ipod so I wont have to take my phone everywhere, and to just have fun with.I went to my itunes to resore the phone and then after it erased everything, a message came up on itunes saying the phone needed a valid sim to be activated...I took an old sim from one of my other old phones and put it in there but it still didn't work. any way of getting around this? I just need to be able to sync it to itunes and put music on there, no need for unlocking unless I have to. I'm using a mac and have access to a pc as well.
