iPhone Activate iOS 6.1?

I'm using iOS 5.1.1 JB and I'm hoping to upgrade to 6.1 but I'm not sure how to activate my iPhone.

Does redsn0w work with 6.1?

Today I has a 3GS that i updated to 6.1 and was unactivated after restore. So what i did was this:

1. Download latest redsn0w
2. download a copy of iOS6.0 for your iDevice. You can get one at the website iclarified.com or felixbruns.
3. When in redsn0w go to extras and click Select IPSW. select the ios 6.0 you downloaded. hit back and jailbreak.
4. done

This works with 3GS or iP4. With later devices just use evasi0n and jailbreak.

Following your steps I'm able to activate but won't install cydia and some apps won't work like Safari and Maps.

This totally worked for my 3GS that was updated to iOS 6.1.

Also, my Safari and Maps are working fine.

Be sure to download the firmware for iOS 6.0, not 6.1

For anyone that comes across this thread, I put up a post about how to unlock an activate the 3GS running 06.15.00 by downgrading the baseband to 05.13.04 on my blog.
