activate multitasking via 3D touch?

Force touch on the left edge of the display. Nice touch. .....pun fully intended.

I can't seem to get it to work despite pressing fairly hard while swiping onto the screen.

Don't swipe. Just force touch. Once it's activated you can swipe.

ok the trick is that you have to press HARD in the middle of the left side of the screen

It seems to only work in portrait mode, not landscape

I still think it's a step back in usability. This is definitely not faster than a double-press of the home button.
