Hi,
I have a 3 years old Apple Watch, Series 2 I think.
In the past month the screen no longer activates when I raise and turn my wrist, I have to tap the watch watch in order to get a display.
Also when in night mode on the charger it no longer lights up from small vibrations such as tapping the chair it is on, but again I must tap the screen.
Can this be fixed, or has the internal accelerometer failed?

Sounds like it does.

Hi all,

I tried rebooting, made no difference, I then realised there was an odd little orange symbol at the top of the watch face. Investigation showed that I had somehow turned on Theatre Mode, this disables Activate on wrist raise.
I turned theatre mode off and normal service has been resumed!

yeah that is annoying - for some reason my watch does that from time to time and I never remember where to change it  (ie swipe up and un-check the 2 masks icon in control center) :D

You’re lucky. :)
