Activate without iTunes?

I am geting my iPhone 6 delivered tomorrow and I'll be at work till late.
I couldn't wait to get home to check if it'll be unlocked or not, so I really wanna take my local SIM card(one from Romania) with me and activate the phone.
Will I be able to do that or I really need to connect it to iTunes? Can't really remember how I did it last years.

You do not need iTunes to activate.

And just to be clear, if you don't use iTunes you do need wifi access to activate the phone. That should be readily available though.

You don't NEED iTunes if you have wifi it can be done.

I got wifi at work, i am fine. Can't tell yet since i didn't get it yet lol. I was just preparing for tomorrow, but i guess by the time i get it people will get one and make it clear.
