Activated through itunes...still no service?

I know, there is a huge thread about this but it seemed out dated, is this still an issue. I activated through itunes and my iphone is still not activated and reads no service. ANy advice on this?

You are out of range of a tower, or are in the process of activating. Activating is not complete until you get a message on your screen saying that it is.

Did you just try jailbreaking it and now have no service? Did you install any OS beta versions or are you just doing a standard restore? More info please. Thanks.
