Activating a Verizon 5S

This is my first time in activating a smartphone, which is still in Process, not shipped yet, and wonder if anyone on this forum have done so on the Verizon version of the 5s ?

My understanding I can do it completely by connecting the iPhone to my computer and going into iTunes to complete the activation. Is this correct ?

Or I can do it by dialing 228 on my iphone itself and complete the process ?

Or on Verizon website, and into my account, I can do it there instead if I'm not mistaken ? Yes, No ?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...;)
