Hey guys,
Long story short, my girlfriends sister broke her iPhone 3GS (4.1 I believe) SIM slot. She bought a new one and has went on selling the 3GS with the intentions that the buyer be able to use it as an iPod Touch.
I had her go to Settings app, General, Reset, and Erase All Content and Settings to remove all her personal data. Worked as it should, except now the phone has been de-activated. The only screen she can access is the Slide for Emergency screen.
I asked her to Restore (I'm doing this from a distance and she's not remotely tech savvy), but she says it won't let her do anything without inserting a SIM card.
So now we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. How can we activate this iPhone without a SIM card?
Would GreenPois0n work? http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=12159
