I have always bought and activated my iPhones at AT&T.

Posts on this board say you can get shipped and then just sync up to iTunes. Don't you have to log in all the email info (SMTP addresses, etc.) to get email? I know this is probably not a big deal but just want to make sure I was not missing something on the in home sync since AT&T has normally set this up for me. I assume if I have to do this, I can just copy the info on the "settings" menu from the old phone.

You can set email yourself at home, or just restore back your old iPhone's info with iTunes to the new phone. No need for AT&T to be involved, unless you're not comfortable doing it yourself.

Make a backup of your old phone then use that backup on the new one.

When I sync my phone, one of the stages it goes thru is "backup". Is that backing up the email setting also or are you suggesting I back up the email some other way?
