Dear Forum Friends,

I am wondering if I can activate my iPhone 6+ oversea. I am currently on a business trip in Japan and am going to receive my iPhone 6+ tomorrow back home. I would like to ask my colleague to bring it to Japan on Sunday and want to know if I can activate my new phone via internet while I am in Japan. I am a AT&T Premier customer and already have the order number and activation number from the "AT&T: Thank you for your order" email.

Thanks,
Bob

From my experience, you can activate it if the phone is factory unlocked, and have a sim card inserted into the phone. I have an unlocked AT&T iPhone 5S which activate just fine using my Korean carrier sim card.

Thank you very much for your reply. My new iPhone 6+ will be just a normal AT&T locked iPhone.
