My iPhone Pro Max arrived today. I am sure that I am not the only one with this dilemma, but I am having trouble activating my new phone. I am upgrading from Samsung Note 8 to this one.

I tried activating the iPhone online, but AT&T had the MEID/IMEI of an iPhone SE 2020 in their system that I had returned earlier. They did not have the MEID/IMEI of the new iPhone in their system even though the SIM card that came with the phone is an AT&T SIM Card.

I called AT&T and waited for an hour until an assistant helped me through the process of setting up the new phone. He said if we get disconnected, he will call back. He seemed like a nice guy. We got disconnected but he never returned my call.

My Samsung phone now displays an MM2 message, meaning the SIM card is inoperable. So apparently he disconnected my account/SIM card from the Samsung phone but has yet to connect it to the new iPhone.

I am thinking I have to drive to an AT&T store and sort it out there.

Any advice?

I resolved it by going to an AT&T store. The service Rep swapped the AT&T SIM card that came with the iPhone with a new one. I recommend dropping by your AT&T store to activate your phone if you experience a problem like mine.
