Hi All . . . Am new this forum !! Please help me out !

Right now am in India . I have an iPhone 4 which was bought from Canada . When I tried using a local network sim it said that the particular sim is not supported by the carrier . I googled a lot to gain more info about my iPhone . My iPhone is locked to Rogers Network from Canada . I understand that I need an original carrier sim to activate my iPhone only after which I will be able to Factory Unlock my iPhone , being in India I don't have the Original Carrier Sim (Roger Sim) .

My question is . . Do I need a fully functional or activated Roger Sim to Activate my iPhone 4 or is a Expired/Never Activated Roger Sim enough to Activate my iPhone 4 officially .

I found a few sim on eBay.com which I think can be used to Activate my iPhone 4 . Please help me out with it .
