Hey there, I have quite a little problem. My cousin sent me her iPhone 4 from Canada which is locked on the Bell carrier. However, this isn't my problem. The actual problem is that she restored the iPhone before shipping it to me in Mauritius and when I try to activate it with a Mauritian sim card, it says that it cannot do it. My question is, if I buy a bell sim card off ebay, will I be able to activate (not unlock) the iphone and use it as an iPod in Mauritius?

Yes, you need a sim from the carrier that the phone is locked to.
Then it will activate and will let you into the home screen.
But as you know you will still wont be able to use it as a phone, just as an ipod.
