Activating new 3Gs from an Edge iphone

I have a new 3Gs white 16GB and I am coming from an Edge iphone, when i first put the phone into itunes it asked me if i wanted to start as a new phone or use a back up version from my old phone....i chose to the backup version, and as i'm looking in the general setting under the life of the phone it is now showing that the lifetime usage of the phone is 26 days and 11 hours....should this be zero? would i be better off retoring to factory settings and then go from there? Any help is appreciated....


oh and also, how do you close applications now? Since holding down the home screen starts voice control

Hit sleep/wake button and home button until slide to power off appears, then hold down home button.
