I'll be away from my own computer when I *hopefully* get the iPhone. I'll be registering it on someone else's mac. Do you think that will be a problem once I go back home to my own mac?

good question

Will you need your own itunes to be up? Can you log into your itunes on another pc?

If AT&T account is in my wife's name and the itunes is in my name...

I'm thinking it should be okay, but I'm not sure. I mean, you can have your iPod on multiple computers now, so this shouldn't be an issue. But if it is, can I reformat the iPhone once I go back home on my own computer?

I was think you'd be able to do this anyway, just like an iPod, deleting everything off your iPod when you reformat it....

who knows.

I'm gonna do this. I'll be on the road and will only have my iBook. I'm gonna activate it with that and hope I can transfer to my iMac for syncing music/video when I get home. I don't think it'll be a problem...I mean, they have to have afforded for people who get a new computer.
