Hi, i have the trial of parallels installed (build 3188) and have bought the retail (build 25070213 ) does this mean i have to uninstall and reintall the earlier build to get my activation to work or is there another way?

Yes, that is very likely... I have the same problem (but have yet to bother with the reinstall). I emailed Parallels about it and was told to reinstall the previous version just to get the supporters email...
