My iPhone from Apple.com had a screen defect so I went to a local Apple store and purchased a replacement today. I will return my original purchase in the next day or so since I'm still in the 14 day window.

In order to get the new phone working, what do I need to do to activate it? It's an AT&T iPhone 6s model. Do I just swap SIMs or do I need to contact AT&T?

If it was a full price "device only" then you just need to swap sim cards. If it was a full price AT&T upgrade then you just need to activate the new phone. Then return the original phone.

Yeah, it was full price purchase. I didn't even give Apple my phone number. So, just swap the SIMs? AT&T doesn't need to know the IMEI or Serial of the replacement phone?

AT&T doesn't care. Just put the sim in and everything will be exactly how it was on your other phone.
