Activating sprint/Verizon iPhones to use gevey sim

I bought 2 iPhone 4s recently. One Is a sprint model and one is Verizon. I want to unlock for use with att. I purchased the gevey ultra s CDMA and am following instructions according to applenberry website. What I'm having trouble with is that the phones go into activation mode before the gevey can pick up signal. Any way to 'activate' so I can use the gevey. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
