Alright here's the deal... had my iPhone 3G swapped out tuesday night for cracks around the dock port...
No problems until I got home and updated to 3.0.. 3.0 requires you to re-activate the phone... but apparently the "Genius" didn't put the phone under my name... they somehow put it under the person who had just swapped their phone out before me's name...
So I luckily got another appointment today.. went in and the Genius said oh... well it's a sim imei error... which means the imei is registered under the other person and when you updated to 3.0 it would not activate due to the conflicting information that I entered into the activation screen...
So he took down my information and said they needed to do some sort of escalation and that I would get a new 3G but couldn't update it to 3.0 until they call me????
Has anyone ever heard of this??
