Activation Fee - do you think you will be billed for it?

When we upgraded our Sprint phones to iPhones 3 years ago at the Apple Store, they never billed us for the activation fee.

Do you think the direct Apple pre-orders will result in the activation fee being billed to you by your carrier?

The order page listed Sprint's as being $36.

Last go 'round for me in 2012 with the iP5 I was charged $72 in total for my two lines. I did online chat with AT&T and told them how I've been loyal and all that. All they did was remove one of the fees $36 off my next bill. I didn't push it any further, but it seemed most everyone else was getting all the upgrade fees removed.

They're able to do it, but I was told that it was a "one time thing."

While I hope it is not the case, it may be harder to get the fees removed now as they are pushing NEXT and the share plans.

Calling and having if removed is not a sure thing. It's a fee. You want AT&T? Pay up or go somewhere else. You owe them that money. It's disclosed up front, so no, you are not entitled to have it removed.

They "may" remove it. Sure, ask. Asking doesn't cost anything. Just don't be surprised if they politely refuse.

And don't hesitate to keep asking (politely) until you get it :D

Switching from att to T-Mobile this year. Tired of wasting my time getting this fee removed that gets upped every year.

I'll ask to get it removed. I work with my clients and I would hope they would work with me too. If not, no biggie. Like said before, it was disclosed up front. I'm still happy. :)

It's not going to be easy. I've already tried to get it removed. As of 1/1/14, they've made it practically impossible to remove the upgrade fee apparently. After persistence, they gave me a credit on my account to offset.

If I buy an unlocked tmobile iPhone from the apple store and stick my AT&T SIM card from my current phone in it, will I be automatically billed for activation?
