Are you switching carriers say from ATT to Verizon and you’re on IUP?

Turns out this watch (express replacement from AppleCare) was originally on sprint and Verizon has stated they do not allow byod(bring your own devices) for the Apple Watch 5, yet. I’m trying too get a replacement.

Good luck with the replacement. Ever since the Series 3 Verizon has been unable to activate watch if it has been on another provider before. I was able to activate my new Apple Watch Series 5 direct from Apple on Verizon and reactivate a Series 3 prior on Verizon to a new line.

Last year I had so much trouble transferring service from my two S3’s to my two S4’s, hours and hours on the phone with their support. I begged them to delete the two S3 numbers and give me two new ones on the S4’s and had to threaten to leave them if they didn’t, they finally relented and the watches magically worked right away.

This year I cut service on the two 4’s when I got the two 5’s and Monday I will have them setup as new numbers. I’m not going through last years hell again, they asked so many questions when I cut service.

I was able to replace the S3 with the S5 through the Watch App and My Verizon app. Luckily, I was not charged an activation fee for the swap. Then I added a new plan to the S3 which charged me $20 activation fee. Just purchased a iPhone 11 Pro Max and luckily the S5 transferred over with no issues.
