I just switched jobs, and returned my work Apple Watch. My coworker said that when he tried to activate it, it said it was locked to my apple id. However, when I go into the iCloud settings to remove it from my device list (https://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm25565a6496), it doesn't show up.

Now, worse case scenario, I can just go back there, unlock it, and turn off activation lock, but I am lazy. Any ideas for why the device is locked, but doesn't show up in my device list?

It's a known bug where resetting the AW doesn't remove the lock and it doesn't show up on iCloud.

No other way around it except to actually unpair it from your iPhone.

Don't be lazy and do the right thing. It is not your bosses fault or the person who needs to use the watch. Just meet them outside the door and get it done.
