So a while back I bought an Apple Watch and have since decided it's not for me and have passed it on to a friend. However when he tries to pair his iPhone with the watch it is telling him that it's still paired to my iCloud account. The problem is it isn't? When I log into iCloud, the Apple Watch does not appear under My Devices therefore I can not remove the Activation Lock.

Anyone else had a similar issue? I'm not sure if this is a bug of whether I'm doing something wrong. My steps were:

  • Watch was running WatchOS1
  • Erased all content on Watch without unpairing first(I believe this doesn't matter if using WatchOS1)
  • Updated Watch to WatchOS2
  • Gave to friend
  • He's know seeing the infamous Activation Lock error.
If I open the watch app on my iPhone it shows no paired watch at all. Seem to be running out of options.

Any help would be appreciated :)
